"It's the same..."

Nicole Richie in yet another chic outfit

I’ve been a fan of Nicole Richie’s style for quite some time now, as I’m sure many of you have been. Nicole has transformed from a frumpy Simple Life star to a fabulously stylish it-girl. Here, in this outfit that I've loved for months, Nicole rocks the casual yet put-together look while hanging with fashionista gal-pal Mischa Barton. Here's how to recreate the look from head-to-toe!

Hot sunglasses are a must in sunny summer weather. This summer, the Ray-Ban Wayfarer is a must-have; choose between the following to steal the look.

This classic white tee pulls the entire look together in a casual yet easy-going twist.

Take a mellow outfit to the next level with one of Nicole's favorite pieces: her black and white Balenciaga bag. The bag stirs things up without taking it too far.

One of my favorite pieces in Nicole's wardrobe is her pair of Ksubi skinny jeans; they're oh-so-flattering on her petite figure and the dark wash is so versatile. Snatch up the exact pair of Ksubi jeans or go for a less expensive option.

Simple and comfortable, black flip flops make this outfit good for shopping or the beach.

"Here we come..."

SIFMcomingsoon.png

First of all, sorry for the lack of updates around here! Things have been busy with the planning of the magazine, but I'm excited to tell you all that the first issue of the magazine should be released around August 4, 2007!

E-mail your thoughts, artwork, comments or questions to shesinfashionmag@gmail.com & you could get featured in the magazine! We also need you guys to send your beauty & fashion questions, as well as what you think about the first issue that will be coming out; you can send this information to the e-mail or just leave a comment here with your first name, age, and location.

Thank you guys for continuing to subscribe and please continue to do so! There will be more frequent updates here on the blog in about 2 weeks, and, once again, the magazine will be launching with our first issue around August 4, 2007!

"We wear short shorts..."

Forget about Jessica Simpson's Daisy Dukes; this summer introduces a completely new look, letting you recycle last year's cut-off denim shorts, and the previously trendy Johnson fabric shorts.

This year think chic, putting your shorts together in a way that's far from over-sexy, but still looks great. The key to success this spring and summer is making the outfit look thrown together at the last minute, but making people wonder how you are able to pull it off so well.

Take Ashley Olsen as an example.

It's safe to say that Ashley has fully established herself as one of the top style icons of today's generation. Even running simple errands like getting coffee, Ashley Olsen still manages to look amazing, making sure that her shorts and white sneaker slides look anything but soccer-mom. Take cues from her this summer by making your look less trashy and messy, and adding high-end (looking) accessories.

(I actually bought a pair of these slides this past weekend, and they're extremely comfortable and stylish. I can't even count the number of compliments I got!)

Roll-up shorts are great for a dressier kind of look; frayed hems can be the wrong decision in certain situations. Try an unexpected twist with dark-colored tights underneath your shorts for a windy spring or summer day.

Our last example is for the girl who's not afraid to take risks; give up last year's Johnson shorts for a completely more creative pair.

This season is all about not being afraid to wear a little bulk, (of course, not so much that you feel or look like you're wearing a diaper!). Bigger is better, in terms of print and size.

Last year's Johnson shorts were just over-worn and over-priced; not a good combination when you're being laid-back in the summertime.

This summer, update your regular shorts-and-a-t-shirt look with an outfit that will have your friends asking you for tips!
